About Us
The Bread Chic was founded in 2008 by Christie Rich, starting as a small operation out of her apartment kitchen. Drawing from a childhood of homemade baking, Christie quickly built a following at local farmers markets with her naturally leavened sourdough bread and fresh pies. As demand grew, Christie and her son moved operations to a commissary kitchen and, in 2021, opened their first brick-and-mortar bakery. Known for high-quality, scratch-made baked goods, The Bread Chic is now expanding to a second location to meet the increasing demand.
Over the years, The Bread Chic has maintained its commitment to sourcing local, organic ingredients whenever possible, offering a rotating selection of bread flavors, including Rosemary, Roasted Garlic, Cheddar Jalapeno, and Multigrain. Pies, both fruit and savory, have also become customer favorites, with flavors like Palisade Peach, Blueberry, and Chicken Pot Pie. Despite starting small, Christie’s dedication to consistency and freshness has built a devoted customer base, selling out regularly at both the farmers markets and their bakery location.
This next expansion marks an exciting chapter for The Bread Chic as they aim to grow their presence within Colorado communities, while continuing to offer the same handmade, high-quality products that have made them a beloved local institution.
